A Day in the Life of Portland Eating

I’ll be the first to admit that when my husband and I decided to uproot our perfectly comfortable lives from California and move to Portland, Oregon, I was a little apprehensive. Then, after the first month of some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life, and a few extra pounds, I knew this was our home. Since day one of my relationship with my now husband, food has played a huge role for us. We both love to try new foods, and I absolutely love to experiment in the kitchen. I LOVE to cook, but I don’t bake. The few times I have tried baking, I tried adlibbing parts of the recipe and completely ruined them. Now I just stick to cooking and I happily buy all my sweets and pastries.

If I haven’t made myself immensely clear yet, I really enjoy food.

The more you weigh, the harder you are to kidnap. Stay safe. Eat cake.

I’m going to take you on a journey of breakfast lunch and dinner here in Portland. Yes, I had all these meals in one day and it was the best day ever. Since then, I’ve given up meat, but I will happily share my mouthwatering slider for all you meat eaters.

Breakfast: Tea Bar

My go to drink and pastry here at tea bar is always the same. A warm and creamy London fog with a rose croissant. You read that right, a ROSE CROISSANT. Its probably the best pastry I’ve ever had, and its pink on the inside, so thats an instagramable bonus!

Lunch: PDX Sliders

Sliders have been a favorite of mine for a long time. They are delicious, not too filling, and even better, these ones are served on ciabatta bread. They cover their fries in herbs, and give you the option for a large slider, or a small slider for those days when you just want a little treat.

Here is my go to order when we go here, along with a nice cold beer!

3oz Tilikum Slider

PDX Fries

Side of BBQ

Last but not least, DINNER!

Tight Tacos

I’m originally from California, so you know Mexican food is a must have for me. I could eat tacos every day for the rest of my life and be perfectly content. Tight Tacos is probably my favorite place in Portland to get tacos because they are amazing AND they have the best vegetarian taco or burrito I’ve ever had in my life!

My go to order as a vegetarian: False Pastor Burrito and side of chips and guac.

Jana’s go to order as a carnivore: 2 Carnitas tacos with a side of rice and beans and some of Abby’s chips and guac.

The food in Portland really is the best, sorry, not sorry Los Angeles!
